I know Mel through my other profession as a PhD student. We have known each other for the better part of five years. So when she asked if I would be willing to photograph her wedding I couldn't say no. A vintage inspired intimate affair, the hair, make-up and style exuded elegance from yesteryear which was only enhanced by the glorious richness of the leather bound books lining the walls of the State Library where the ceremony was held. If you haven't been, the Shakespeare room in the library is just something else, add it to your bucket list. The tone of the afternoon was set by a hilarious bunch of bridesmaids and groomsmen, with laughter a constant song. Impeccable timing and skilful writing from Tami Sussman the wedding celebrant further enhanced the relaxed and fun vibe. The reception was then held under the exposed beams in the New York loft inspired venue of Riley Street Garage with excellent food, jokes abound from the MCs (a dashing brother duo) and lots of crazy dancing. Finishing off the night were the beautiful and delicious cakes made by the bride herself the days before the wedding. Congratulations to the wonderful couple, wishing you every happiness.
